Construction Begins at Creekside at The Grounds
A major milestone is underway at The Grounds. Front Street Capital and Carter have officially broken ground on Creekside at The Grounds: a fully furnished, purpose-built student apartment community and the first vertical development within the 100-acre mixed-use district.

Overlooking the newly restored Silas Creek and just steps from Wake Forest University, Creekside represents a bold step toward realizing a vision years in the making: a vibrant, connected neighborhood that blends modern living with the energy of campus, entertainment, and community life.
Creekside will include 229 units and 521 beds, all thoughtfully designed for upperclassmen and graduate students. The building will feature high-end finishes, private bathrooms for every bedroom, and an array of lifestyle amenities, from study rooms and a fitness center to a pool and outdoor gathering space. A new pedestrian bridge and multi-use trail will link residents directly to the future retail village at The Grounds and the Wake Forest campus.

Creekside is expected to open in Fall 2027, and is being developed in partnership with Carter, Kayne Anderson Real Estate, and Truist Financial. It is part of a larger Phase One vision now exceeding $215 million in planned investment. Additional projects, including a new office building and retail village, are scheduled to break ground in 2026.
